The Dufour 48 Hybrid represents the new generation of premium sailing monohulls, combining contemporary design, onboard comfort, and silent electric propulsion.
This 15-meter yacht is the first of its kind to feature, as standard, a fully integrated electric propulsion and energy management system, developed by JOOOL in collaboration with Dufour Yachts.
Smooth electric propulsion
Under sail, the Dufour 48 Hybrid remains true to its design: fast, balanced, and precise. But under motor, everything feels different. The electric drive offers silent, vibration-free propulsion that changes how we navigate. Departures and manoeuvres become effortless. The absence of noise, fumes, and delay gives sailors a renewed sense of control and serenity, especially in confined spaces or at night. Silent mooring
The benefits continue at anchor. Thanks to its onboard lithium storage and JOOOL’s OneBox module, the Dufour 48 Hybrid delivers real energy autonomy. Without starting the generator, the boat can run air conditioning, galley appliances, 220V outlets, lighting and navigation systems — everything needed for full onboard life. The system manages charging from multiple sources automatically: solar, hydrogeneration under sail, shore power, and generator when needed. The result is a clean, quiet, and stress-free energy environment that supports long-term living at sea.
Fully integrated hybrid system
The JOOOL hybrid system installed aboard the Dufour 48 is both compact and fully integrated. It features a 25 kW PowerPod electric motor dedicated to propulsion, coupled with a 27 kWh lithium battery pack and managed through OneBox, our intelligent 25 kW energy controller. The system also includes an EPMS (Energy & Propulsion Management System), which ensures real-time coordination between all components — from propulsion to charging. At the helm, a hybrid throttle lever offers precise, responsive control, while a user-friendly interface provides an intuitive overview of the entire system. A 14 kW generator, installed forward for better weight distribution and acoustic isolation, completes the setup. Every element is connected, communicating in real time to ensure balance, safety, and seamless operation under all conditions.
