Heart of the energy-propulsion system
The OneBox is the central module of every JOOOL hybrid-electric system. It connects all energy sources : shore power, solar, generator, to battery storage and all onboard consumers, and coordinates every energy flow through the EPMS intelligence layer. Available in two configurations for different vessel profiles and use cases.
AUTOMATED ENERGY MANAGEMENT
OneBox Propulsion : integrated electric drive
The OneBox Propulsion adds integrated electric drive to the energy management platform. Connected to the PowerPod direct-drive motor, it replaces the diesel engine entirely, delivering silent, instant-torque propulsion in harbour and regenerating electricity from the propeller while sailing. The complete hybrid-electric sailing experience.
- For sailing yachts: 40 to 65 ft (monohull and catamaran)
- PowerPod replaces diesel engine : silent, zero-emission propulsion
- Hydrogeneration: recovers 2–5 kWh per hour at hull speed while sailing
- Instant torque from zero RPM : superior marina manoeuvring
- Automatic mode switching: electric drive, hydrogeneration, hybrid
- Shore power, solar, generator, and hydro all managed by the EPMS

QUESTIONS
Everything you want to know
Yes. The battery packs, EPMS, and installation architecture are shared across both configurations. Upgrading involves replacing the OneBox module and adding the PowerPod, the electrical infrastructure already in place is compatible. JOOOL's engineering team can advise on the upgrade pathway for each vessel.
Up to three OneBox units can run in parallel on the same vessel, for total battery storage up to 456 kWh and combined AC output up to 18 kW. For the Propulsion configuration on a catamaran, two OneBox Propulsion units drive two PowerPods independently.
